Active living is a choice to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. Increasing regular physical activity is a great way to reduce the risk of obesity and promote health in the community.

Transforming Health Together is working to increase regular physical activity in our region by working with local organizations to adopt and promote joint-use agreements. A joint-use agreement is a way to increase opportunities for children and adults to be more physically active. It refers to two or more entities, for example, a school and the local community, sharing indoor and outdoor spaces like gymnasiums, athletic fields and playgrounds. The concept is simple: share resources to keep costs down and communities healthy.

Planning for Health

A comprehensive plan is an official document adopted by a city or town that serves as a guide for future planning of activities such as economic growth and development, transportation, recreation, utilities, land use, housing and other elements. Comprehensive plans typically cover large geographical areas, a broad range of topics, and are generally updated every 5 years and cover a 20-30 year time frame. Granville Greenways

Granville Greenways is a county-directed partnership between Granville County, its municipalities, and the local school systems, working to create a system of walking and biking trails that will be known as Granville Greenways.
